Intimacy. It’s not just for Valentine’s Day anymore…

From Volume 12, Issue 2:Mention the word “intimacy” and a lot of pictures come to mind. They usually involve two people between the sheets (hereinafter referred to as BTS), getting to know everything about each other.

As this Valentine’s season comes and goes, I’d like to expand the concept to include everyday relationships.

Creative Quitting: The Art of Letting Go

From Volume 9, Issue 12:Stick-to-itiveness. I was raised on it. Commitment…always a good thing, right? Toughing it out has been a cornerstone of my existence, imprinted by a can-do dad and a cheerleader mom, both products of the “Greatest Generation.” So obviously, not quitting is right smack in the middle of my “comfort zone.” That should be a warning in itself. “Fish or cut bait,” the old saying goes. Well, I’m here to vote in favor of “cutting bait.” I’ve termed it “creative quitting.”

Margins…

From Volume 9, Issue 4:Margins are buffers. They protect us against things we don’t want. We put them at the edge of our writing so words don’t run off the page. We use them to secure investments with a broker. We win by a margin. The difference between what a merchant buys something for and what he sells it for is a margin. Margins are useful and valuable to maintain. So, what about margins in your day-to-day life?
